Junbin ZHANG (Thomas)

I am an M.A.Sc. student in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada. I have a nice supervisor Dr. Julia Rubin. I am also doing projects for UBC Digital Multimedia Lab (DML).

Before coming to UBC, I received two bachelor degrees (as a "2 + 2" program) from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in the department of Electronic and Information Engineering (under the supevision of Dr. Wan-Chi Siu) and Sun Yet-sen University in microelectronics.

Research Interests:

  • For my Master's Degree, I am working on mobile security and privacy (e.g. OAuth, static taint analysis).
  • In UBC DML, I am helping with projects related to multimedia technology (e.g. video compression, high dynamic range, virtual reality).
  • My other research interests include computer vision, and machine learning.
