About Me

portrait

I have recently graduated from my Master's degree at the University of British Columbia supervised by Prof. Steve Wilton in the System on Chip research group. I completed my undergraduate in computer engineering at Queen's University in 2006.

I am currently looking for employment. Positions related to electronics engineering, systems integration or firmware are very interesting to me. My CV can be found below.

Research

My research is in CAD tools for FPGAs. My research focuses on developing synthetic benchmarks which will more accurately represent modern circuits. We use the SOC style of circuit development to structure our new circuits.

Slides

My talk for the August 2008 Cascadia workshop can be downloaded here.

Generator

The associated generator can be downloaded here. The tarred package includes the source files, Visual Studio project files and the Linux makefile, a manual, and the associated directories of MCNC benchmarks. The manual can be downloaded individually here. My thesis which describes this project in greater depth can be downloaded here.

Interests

I've dabbled in too many things to count: piano, cooking, Spanish, etc. My two current hobbies, however, are sailing and pottery. I pursue both of these hobbies through UBC clubs. These clubs make these equipment intensive pasttimes much easier to pursue.

I have been rather involved with student organisations in the past. While I have taken the last year off, so to speak, I am looking forward to getting back into it this year. I will be joining the Women in Engineering organisation, a new initiative called Free Geek, and probably, the Graduate Electrical and Computer Engineering student group.
