Honours and Awards

•  IEEE Student Travel Grant to attend Globecom 2012, Anaheim, CA, USA

•  NSERC Vanier Scholarship (2011-2014). This is the most prestigious and highly sought after scholarship in Canada. I am the only Vanier award winner
   in ECE dept. in 2011.

•  Donald N. Byers Memorial Prize for being the highest ranked Killam doctoral scholar in annual UBC-wide affiliated fellowship competition (2010)

•  Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Pre-doctoral Fellowship, UBC. (2010-2012 Academic year)
   This is the most prestigious fellowship available to all PhD students in UBC and I was one of the six students awarded in whole UBC in
   2009/2010 academic year. (UBC engineering news release on winning Killam fellowship )

•  Four Year Fellowship, UBC. (2009-2013)
   This fellowship is awarded to top ~2-3% PhD students in the department.

•  Nominated for People to People Citizen Ambassador Program 2011 (Information and Communication Technology Sector). Click here for general information. 

•  2nd position in the IEEE student paper contest 2006 in the Undergraduate category in Region 10 (ASIA PACIFIC Region).         

•  Honorable Mention Award in the 2005 International Future Energy Challenge (IFEC) project contest held in Colorado, USA.

• ‘Kinter Ul Huq’ Gold Medal for obtaining the highest CGPA in the EEE department, BUET.

•  Dean’s Merit list award in each of four Undergraduate academic years in BUET.

•  University Merit scholarship in each of the eight semesters in BUET.

•  Hanif-Laskar Memorial Scholarship, BUET.

•  8th position (among ~200000 students), Science group, HSC Examination, Dhaka Board, Bangladesh, in 2000.
