Ian Stavness

I am an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University working with Scott Delp at the Simbios NIH Center for Biomedical Computation. I am part of the OpenSim team working on musculoskeletal simulation and whole-body biomechanics.

I completed my PhD at UBC, Vancouver, Canada working with Sidney Fels. My thesis work involved computer simulation of head and neck biomechanics with ArtiSynth as part of the OPAL project. I also led a project developing a new 3D display technology called pCubee. I taught EECE 415: Requirements Engineering for Software-Intensive Systems in the Spring 2011 term at UBC.
