Research Interests

My research is concerned with providing Quality of Service (QoS) in IP   networks. My supervisor is Prof. Hussein Alnuweiri.

My current research interests are

  • QoS issues in Optical Networks
  • Optical Network Architecures and Protocols
  • IP over WDM Networks
  • Performance Analysis and Simulation of Optical Networks

The proliferation of Internet Protocol (IP) technology coupled with the vast bandwidth offered by optical wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) technology are paving the way for IP-over-WDM to become the primary means for transporting data across large distances in the next generation Internet. WDM is an optical multiplexing technique that allows better exploration of the fiber capacity by simultaneously transmitting data packets over multiple frequencies, or wavelengths.
