Abstract

This paper presents the design procedure of the paper machine benchmark control simulation using a Generalized Predictive Control (GPC) algorithm. The given benchmark process is treated as a two-input and two-output black box. The model used in GPC design is identified using bump-tests data. Fibre and filler consistency sensors are not used. The GPC algorithm optimizes a user-selected criterion in terms of model prediction errors. The control simulation is performed by using SIMULINK.
