Abstract

The bit error rate for binary phase shift keying (BPSK) modulation used on a Rician fading channel with an arbitrary Doppler frequency is studied. An expression is derived for the moment generating function of the signal sample at the output of the matched filter and is then used to calculate the BER. Numerical results are provided which illustrate the effect of the Rician factor, the Doppler frequency and different transmit pulse shapes.
