Abstract | A hybrid FDM/DS-CDMA system, with a single processing gain value, operating over an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel is described and analyzed. The performance of the proposed scheme is then compared with the conventional multiprocessing gain system. It is observed that the new system offers a higher capacity than the latter, and is capable of facilitating different quality of service (QoS) requirements for heterogeneous traffic in a multimedia network. Further capacity enhancement with optimized power allocation based on equal error probability (EEP) strategy is also discussed |
