Alumni and Industry

At UBC's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, our interdisciplinary research is geared towards impactful discoveries and inventions. ECE graduate programs engage our top students to become skilled researchers and innovators through the development of new and improved algorithms, models, processes, devices and systems. We invite you to join us on our mission by proposing research topics and partnering in research projects.

Our University-Industry Liaison Office (UILO) has made it easier for industry and UBC ECE to work together. UILO can provide companies with research agreement templates and advice to get started. Policies are also in place to ensure the protection, assignment and licensing of intellectual property.

Various funding opportunities exist including grant programs for NSERC, NRC-IRAP and MITACS that match direct and in-kind contributions by industry to university research projects. Many other funding opportunities are available. For more information on our collaboration research opportunities, contact info [at] ece [dot] ubc [dot] ca.

The Industry section is currently underdevelopment. Please check back soon for further information. Any questions or concerns can be directed to info [at] ece [dot] ubc [dot] ca.
