Schober
I am a Professor in the Department of Electrical and
Computer Engineering at the University
of British Columbia in Vancouver,
BC. My research and teaching interests are
in the broad area of wireless communications. My current research topics
include cognitive radio, cooperative communication, network coding,
ultra-wideband (UWB) signaling, MIMO, OFDM, coded modulation, free-space
optics, and cross-layer design.

I have several exciting projects for Master’s and PhD
students in the area of wireless
communications. If you are interested, you may contact me provided you meet the
following criteria:
- Master’s
students: In your Bachelor’s, you finished in the top 5 % of your
class. If you have publications, this will strengthen your case.
- Ph.D.
students: In your Bachelor’s and Master’s, you finished in the
top 5 % of your class and you have submitted IEEE conference/journal
papers from your Master’s work.
I am also constantly looking for postdoctoral fellows. I
expect applicants to have significant journal publications (3+ full IEEE
journal papers) and I am mostly interested in applicants who qualify for one of
the following or similar fellowship programs:
